NC Health and Healing is a flash-based adaptation of Health and Healing Experiences in North Carolina – a long-standing North Carolina Museum of History exhibit.
Made possible through a partnership between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and the North Carolina Museum of History, this dynamic and interactive timeline chronicles the health issues and practices of the Tar Heel state from the use of primitive herbal remedies to high-tech breakthroughs in modern medicine.
As North Carolina's oldest and largest health insurer, BCBSNC is deeply rooted in the state’s history. The timeline and the Museum partnership are a gift from BCBSNC to its home state – a commemoration of the past, a celebration of the present and a commitment to collaborate on the public health challenges of the future.
Now and for years to come, North Carolinians everywhere can visit one of the Museum’s longest-standing and most popular exhibits again and again.
